The most important goal of CENAA´s “Transition” programme is the experience-sharing from Euro-Atlantic integration, security sector reform, institution building and creation of strategic documents. The main long-term objective is to participate on transition period of states and regions in neighbourhood of the European Union and NATO, as well as in states apart from Europe. The target states are situated in the Balkans, Eastern Europe (with focus on Ukraine), as well as in other regions out-of-Europe.
At the time being CENAA is participating on common project with our Serbian partner, the Centre for Civil-Military Relations (CCMR). The project is focusing on experiences of the Slovak Republic from transition period with focus on security sector reform and security policy creation.
As a part of the project CENAA and CCMR organized a two-day international conference in Belgrade, 15.-16. December 2008. High-level representatives of Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defence, as well as academics and experts from Serbia, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and Czech Republic participated on the event.
Besides the above mentioned common conference and several seminars the CENAA and CCMR issued a publication which is mapping the Slovakian and Serbian experiences and potential in th field of integration and security sector reform:
