Research topics: Security policy, US foreign policy, Afghanistan, NATO, Information warfare

Tomáš Čižik received his Master degree in European Studies at the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences at the Comenius University in Bratislava. Research during studies: Future security development of Aghfanistan based on Regional security complex theory, Defensive vs. offensive realism of second Gulf war – Iraq 2003. In his master thesis “Comparative analysis of Soviet and American presence in Afghanistan”, he wrote about the limits of hegemonic power in asymmetric warfare. Tomáš Čižik is a student of Faculty of Political Science and International Relations at the Matej Bel University enrolled in the combined study mode in following doctoral degree programme: Theory of Politics. His dissertation is focused on the information warfare. Tomáš joined CENAA in 2013.

vieraPhDr. Viera Žúborová, Ph.D.

Senior Research Fellow

Research topics: Political communication, Migration discourse, Tranzitology and Post- communism.

Dr. Viera Žúborová is political scientist by background and she operates at the Faculty of Social Sciences of University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava since 2008. During these years she operates at the faculty also as the vice-dean from research and strategic project, and leaded the Department of political science and European studies. She also works as managing editor of Slovak Journal of Political science. Since 2016 she operates as senior research fellow at the think-tank Centre for European and North Atlantic Affairs (CENAA). She focuses on issues of political communication, and migration discourse, tranzitology and question on post-communism. As a visiting PhD scholar, she operated at the The Université libre de Bruxelles (2010). Viera Žúborová is the co-founder of non-profit organization Trnavska alternativa, and also the co-founder of non-profit organization Mladá Archa, she served there as director from 2015. Both non-profit organization focus on organising the various educational and creative activities supporting critical thinking of the students and youth, including realization of project that are focusing on the development of public space and active participation at the local level. Viera Žúborová is also from 2015 regular columnist at the online newspapers Aktulity.sk.

Senior Research Fellow

Research topics: International terrorism, International security, EU affairs

Ondřej works as assistant professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Trnava and at the Faculty of Law, Palacky University in Olomouc. During his Ph.D. studies at the Department of Politics and European Studies (DPES), Faculty of Arts, Palacky University in Olomouc, he focused on European integration issues and Weapons of Mass Destruction. He also studied European integration at the Hague University in the Netherlands, worked for the European Commission and for the International Cooperation Branch at the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. His research interest covers issues of international terrorism, international security and EU affairs with specialization on EU policies and institutions. He is author of dozens scientific publications including five books.

Research topics: Migration, Terrorism, Integration

Ingrid received her Master´s degree in Political Science at the Faculty of Philisophy at the University of Trnava in Trnava. In her master thesis she was dealing with the topic of irregular migration flows into the EU specifically the Italian Case. She is curently a student at Faculty of the Social Sciences at University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, where she studies for doctoral degree in the field of European Studies. Her dissertation is focused on the integration of the migrants in Slovak republic. She joined CENAA in 2015.
